We cordinally invite you to a family event at ISBCC this Saturday, October 13th just after school from 2 to 3pm. Local Muslim children’s book author and mother of three, Alexis York Lumbard, will be launching her debut picture book “The Conference of the Birds”. A book launch is a public celebration of a newly released title. Lumbard’s The Conference of the Birds is a picture book written for children ages 4 and up that retells an Islamic Classic that is full of moral and spiritual values.
This is a child-centered, fun event that includes:
- Short introduction by Lumbard’s husband, Joseph Lumbard, a local Muslim academic and Professor of Classical Islamic Studies at Brandeis University
- Book Reading by Alexis
- Raffle with a chance to win several children’s book prizes
- A chance to purchase a signed copy of the book (bring cash if you are interested!)
- Take home Hud-Hud (in English “Hoopoe” bird) coloring sheets

A new school year is upon us already!
Our first day of school and registration day is on Saturday September 8th, 2012. The school runs from 10 am until 2pm.
We are looking forward to seeing our students after the long summer break. We wish u a happy new school year filled with successes, challenges, innovation and celebrations — and most of all, lots of learning!
